Photography

I was offered a position as a Sports Photographer for Wellesley Athletics after the publication of my first photo book “Non Ministrari”. At the beginning of an athletic season, I send in my availability and receive a schedule of games I’m set to shoot. I attend the games, photograph for 2-4 hours with a 70-200mm lens, edit the photos via Lightroom, and send them to Wellesley Athletics the same day for use on their social media platforms. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph speaker events, senior nights, and team photos.

For my final project, I sought to capture the camraderie and intimacy of collegiate athletics. In my photographs, I wanted to capture the family-like nature of sports teams at Wellesley College, and the intense, and often complicated relationship, an athlete has with their sport. Part of the importance of this project, beyond highlighting the bonds forged in athletics, was photographing and printing special moments for Wellesley College Athletes to be able to look back on and remember their experience by.

Initially, I had set out to capture the majority of this project with film. I wanted to juxtapose the silver prints of intimate moments with the vibrant, in color action shots of the game I had taken digitally. I encountered quite a few difficulties shooting on 35mm film, including mishaps with loading the film in the camera. Although I enjoyed the images I did capture on film, I scanned them for digital prints and transitioned the rest of my project to digital, as it was a more affordable and accessible medium for me. I am continuing this project beyond the class semester and will continue to make prints for the Wellesley Athletics archive.

In October 2025, I published my second landscape photo book, Sed Ministrare. Sed Ministrare documents the Wellesley College and greater Boston area landscape changing through the season. I adjusted this photo book to feel more like a field journal. The process of photographing and curating photos took over a year, and I spent the summer of 2025, adjusting my notes on location, editing tips, and general photography lessons I'd learned through the process of creating the book. it.

I designed the final book in Affinity Publisher and launched the book live on Amazon Prime via Kindle Direct Publisher. I'm immensley proud of this book and the journey I embarked on to attain

I cold-emailed Collegiate Media Directors at Babson College, MIT, and Harvard to ask for a media pass to shoot photos at their sporting events. I shot primarily basketball and ice hockey during this time. The focus was on building up my portfolio of work and giving myself the space to experiment with different types of lenses, camera bodies, and shot profiles in a low-stress enviornment. All of the photos I captured, I shared with the schools for social media use.

Non Ministrari was my first photo book. I compiled two years worth of photos detailing seasonal changes on Wellesley College Campus and organized a layout for those photos in a book format via Affinity Publisher. This photo book was photographed primarily with an IPhone XR and my Canon Rebel. I utlized the tools I had available to me and applied traditional photographic principles to shots I'd take of campus (and later the city) on my way to practice or class. This project was the first that solidified my interest and passion for photography.

For my Photography I final, I was tasked with choosing a project theme and creating several silver prints that showcased my chosen theme. I decided to explore the spaces in which I held membership: my basketball team, and the Shakespeare Society. In these spaces, my presence could go unnoticed and my camera felt less imposing as my subjects were already comfortable around me. I was able to capture intimate moments in these spaces and allow my class to spend some time seeing these spaces through my eyes.
